Movember 2023, November 1 to 30
Movember is an annual event that takes place every November to raise awareness and funds for men's health issues, specifically prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and men's mental health and suicide prevention.
The nature of the work of SES volunteers, police, paramedics, fire and associated services undertake makes the protectors & carers more vulnerable to mental health issues. About 10 per cent of current emergency service workers have PTSD and one emergency service worker is taking their own life every six weeks.
