Why you should call the Far North Flood Infoline
Call the Infoline if:
- you are isolated by flooding
- you are running low on essential supplies
- your usual delivery or supply routes have been cut off
- you need support to keep people or animals safe
- you are unsure what help is available and need advice.
The sooner you call, the sooner we can understand your situation and connect you with support.
What to expect when you call
When you call, a call taker will have a conversation with you and ask some questions, so we can understand what you need. They may ask about:
- People on your property: who is there, and if anyone needs specific help (e.g. medical needs or mobility concerns)
- Safety of where you are: how your property has been impacted, whether it’s safe to stay, and if there are any hazards (like chemicals or damaged structures)
- Access to supplies: if you can still get food, fuel, water or fodder, and if your normal supply chain may be disrupted in the coming days or weeks
- Access to and from your property: whether roads or tracks are passable, and what options exist for delivering essential items to you.
- Health and wellbeing: how you and others are coping, and any risks to personal safety or wellbeing.
These questions help us understand what support you need and how we can help arrange it.
