State Emergency Service Marine Rescue volunteers
Volunteer Marine Rescue organisations in South Australia provide a high quality volunteer emergency service along the vast coastline of the State and many miles of inland waterways and lakes.
Other important tasks include vessel recovery and retrieval, medevac and assisting the Police and other government agencies. Their rescue craft, crewed by specially trained volunteers, have been strategically positioned on the metropolitan and regional coastline and at locations along the Murray River and lakes.
The State Emergency Service (SES) takes a leadership role in providing a conduit to the Volunteer Marine Rescue through the office of the Manager, Volunteer Marine Rescue (Tel: 08 8115 3885)
SES Marine Rescue Units are situated at the following locations:
Inland Waters
Blanchetown, Barmera, Berri, Loxton, Renmark, Murray Bridge and Meningie
Inshore Waters
Port Broughton and Yankalilla.
Offshore Waters
Port Pirie, Port Lincoln, Tumby Bay, Ceduna and Kingston (SE).
